Vue Fes Japan, the largest Vue.js conference in Japan, will be held again in 2024!
This conference, born in 2018, was created to celebrate Vue.js together like a festival, to learn together, and above all, to enjoy together.
The last Vue Fes Japan 2023 was the first offline event in 5 years and was attended by nearly 600 people. After a long period of cancellations and online events, the enthusiasm of the Vue.js community was palpable at this conference.
Vue.js has been steadily evolving since Vue 3 became the default in January 2022. The latest 3.4 series has seen 4.8 million downloads per week, major framework libraries such as Nuxt, Vuetify, and Quasar have completed their support for Vue 3, and the entire ecosystem has entered a period of stability.
Meanwhile, a new trend is emerging in the ecosystem around Vue.js.
Nitro, Nuxt's core server engine, is starting to be used by other metaframeworks such as SolidStart and Analog. UnJS, a collection of high-quality JavaScript utilities, has gained traction in the non-Vue.js community, and Vite, created by Vue.js author Evan You, has evolved into a next-generation tool that supports a wide variety of front-ends beyond Vue, with over 11 million weekly downloads.
In addition, we are working with the Rspack team and the OXC project to develop Rolldown, a Rust implementation of the Vite core rollup, releasing an initial version in March 2024, and other open source software around Vue.js is far reaching.

Did you know that there's been a growing trend in implementing JavaScript ecosystems using Rust? Examples include Oxc, Biome, Turbo, Rspack, SWC, and others adopting Rust. Additionally, there's an ongoing project to reimplement Rollup, used in the Vue.js ecosystem through Vite, in Rust.
Will Rust become mainstream in frontend development going forward? And will existing JavaScript-based ecosystems eventually be reimplemented in Rust?
In this session, we'll invite contributors from the JavaScript OSS community to join Evan You and Boshen Chen, our international guest speakers, for a cross-talk discussion on the future direction of JavaScript ecosystems.

The evolution of Vue.js relies not only on developers but also on the Vue.js community playing a crucial role. Often, we hear voices expressing interest in the community but unsure of where to begin or what activities are available.
In this panel discussion, we will invite members actively involved in the Vue.js and related ecosystem communities to share their experiences regarding how they participate and what activities they engage in.
At Vue Fes Japan, we conduct hands-on sessions every year for those who are just starting to learn Vue.js!
Nuxt, the meta-framework for Vue.js, has an official tutorial called Nuxt Tutorial currently under development. This time, in collaboration with Anthony Fu, the author of this tutorial, Vue Fes Japan will debut the Japanese version of this official tutorial in advance, using it as the material for our hands-on sessions.
This tutorial starts with the basics of Vue.js (reactivity, Composition API, etc.) and aims to help beginners who have never touched Vue.js but want to create practical applications with it. It covers core concepts of Nuxt and is designed to be enjoyable for those new to Vue.js who are eager to try their hand at building applications.
The popular Creative Wall from last year will make a return this year. Please write down your passionate thoughts about Vue.js and Vue Fes Japan. We also have props ready for photos, perfect for commemorative snapshots.
After focused sessions and each event, how about some coffee or tea? We also provide complimentary snacks. Feel free to drop by whenever you feel like refreshing yourself a bit.
